what I've been doing the past days..

smokin ma brains out and staying up way too long. as you can see the sun started to rise already that day. I watched the sunrise. Was really beautiful.

spending time with my chosen family <3. Oliver, Haru, and me. C: Oliver went back to Australia for the next 3 weeks, so I think me and Haru are going to spend as much time together as possible, so both of us won't miss him too much.

enjoying the summer with my real family. That's my sister in law by the way. C:

being at lovely Julia's new apartment and enjoying the view of the sunset from her balcony. <3

watching Haru and her colleg Caro creating a new video for Caro's blog "The Biatch Box"  - go guys, check it out: THE BIATCH BOX

drinking good black coffee at Haru's place.

and watching Joel (deadmau5) stream, and breastfeed his new kitten, Miss Nyancat.....

so  yeah. I've really been busy..

Day 11: A photo of a band/artist you like that aren't famous worldwide yet

so, I'm not sure how famous he is already, but I'm pretty damn sure he isn't "worldwide" famous yet.

Netsky, my favourite Drum'n'Bass DJ, from Belgium, working for Hospital Records.

He's getting more famous lately, as I told you in my last post, his new single is the background music for the new Pro7 advertisment, and I've even seen the music video to that song on ViVa.

thb I'm not sure if I like that. On the one hand I am so absolutely happy for my favourite musicians that they get more famous, and get more money for what they're doing, cause they simply deserve it so much.

But what I don't like is everyone starting to listen to EDM recently. Every stupid prick tries to tell me something about my absolutely fav music genre, and I could simply puke.

As my EDM love (and my most fav person on this planet right now) deadmau5, once said "EDM is a sinking ship, and I'm trying to get a safety vest on and swim as far away as I can".
And I do understand him, really. All those idiots trying to be DJs such as FUCKING Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan or even "DJ" Pauly D.
Fuckers, keep your hands off this music genre. Something like that makes me go so angry and rant about it all day long.

I love my music, so fucking much. I put every single feeling, every thought, every second of my life in it, it's like they would be my babies, and stupidass idiots are trying to ruin that.

Newfags and other unknown suckers. mreh.

I know that I'm in no position to judge over anybody but I really spent so much time with EDM lately, tried to get to know so much more, and right now it's more than just music or a hobby to me.
It's a huge part of my life, and I think it's just normal that I want to protect that from other people, who are in my opinion not really putting so much effort in it, but still judging over and talking about it, as if they were professionals.

I cherish my musicians so much. SO freaking much. For everything they are, for everything they're doing. I love them for being such excellent and brilliant minds.

as a few of you might remember I started with Drum'n'Bass because of my lovely Julia, and just remember that he's one of my absolute favourites in that genre! C:

Urban Art Forms 2012 - The Review

So finally, two weeks after the actual Festival I have time to do this.
I still don't have the pictures from Nina, which means I'm not on the pictures I'll post now. These pics are entirely from the UAF facebook acc, and all the props go to the photographers who really did a great job! I'll just post pictures of the artists and bands I've seen, because if I'd post all of the ones that played I would need a week to do so..

here you have the Main Stage. Of course Skrillex, Paul Kalkbrenner, Deichkind, Justice, Nero, the Turntablerockers, and many more played there.
I really enjoyed that there's only ONE big stage (even though the seconds stage was even bigger, but it wasn't open air) and you didn't have to run from one place to another just to see everything you want in time.

Here you have the inside of the Drum'n'Bass stage. It was SO fucking hot in there, almost 40°C and the sweat was dripping of the roof, I swear. On the first day we couldn't even get in to watch SubFocus because it was so loaded.

Skrillex' Mothership on the Main Stage.

that's what they did with the WHOLE area while Skrillex was playing. To be honest I didn't realise shit. I didn't see that, I just saw that right now, while going through the pictures. I think it's hardly noticeable if you stand in the crowd, but still it's absolutely COOL! C: (the thing right above which looks like a huge tent is the 2nd stage btw)

all those pictures were taken during URBAN ART FORMS 2012.
Here's my opinion about the Skrillex gig:
So as I'm a huge fan of Skrillex I was - of course - looking forward to it. I was so freaking nervous the whole Friday because I was SO SO SO excited. So of course my opinion wouldn't be "fair" enough, because I would've probably liked it even if it would've been complete shit.
But "lucky" for me I was camping with a few peepz who actually refused to watch Skrillex in the beginning, but when we all met after the gig EVERYBODY was just completely BLOWN away. This gig was absolutely insane, and so freaking amazing. Even the "hardcore" house and drum'n'bass fans said that he pulled of a freaking amazing show and it was so worth watching it.
I personally would attend every single concert if it would be near my country. So if Skrillex ever decides to come back I will definately be part of it.

let's continue with Zedd playing at the 2nd Stage on Thursday:

the visuals were pretty fucking amazing!!

again the pictures were taken during UAF 2012.

I watched Zedd and I was really really impressed. Not only by the visuals but by the cute fact that he spoke (of course) german, and well..tbh I've known him from my tumblr EDM peeps, and then I started to get to know more about him, finding out that he's from Germany, and so on. Seeing him live really was important to me, and I dragged everyone of my people to the 2nd stage, because none of them knew him, but I was really happy that after the gig they were all really impressed by him! He was the first artist I watched at Urban Art Forms.

what we did during the day, when the stage area wasn't open yet, cuz nothing was playing - CHILLAX AT THE LAKE!
oh man I was so happy that the lake was IN the festival area, this was so important for all of us, cuz the whole weekend it was so freaking hot, and well I think it saved a lot of people from collapsing.

There was one particular moment I thought was so funny. On Saturday all of us were laying at the "beach" again, and suddenly everyone fell asleep. I was the first one to wake up again, and when I looked around I saw at least 200 people sleeping like babies at the beach, while listening to drum'n'bass xDDD so  funny, cuz everyone was so fucking exhausted, they just HAD to fall asleep xD

again pictures taken during UAF.

there was even a stage IN the lake. Pretty cool shit, huh. :D

here you have NERO playing at the Main Stage. When he played "Promises" (i think a lot of you guys might know that song) almost everybody could sing along. That was really epic. And I think I heard that song at least in 5 different versions from different artists xD p.e. from Skrillex xDD

let's continue with Paul Kalkbrenner, who played before Skrillex:

me and Nina were at the first wavebreaker during Paul Kalkbrenner, and we're pretty sure that we are in the official UAF 2012 video, cause there was this cameraman running RIGHT in front of us while filming. :'D I hope it won't be embarrassing. (if we even are in the movie)
Kalkbrenner was as good as I thought he would be, he played every single song I wished for, and I would watch him over and over again if I could get the chance! <3

a picture of the Turntablerockers at UAF 2012 - Main Stage. (remember the right one? yes, he actually is a part of the Fantastischen Vier.)

they even had an area for skate contests! I really thought everything they offered the fans and the visitors was just so neat, and so cool. I really felt entertained the whole time, without them taking every cent that I own away from me.

a view of the festival area from above.

a view from inside the 2nd Stage.

let's continue with the Headliners from Saturday - JUSTICE:

tbh. I've not seen them as long as I wished I would have but I decided to choose Camo&Krooked over Justice and went to the Drum'n'Bass Stage instead of the Main Stage.
BUT I was there when they played D.A.N.C.E. and FUCKDISSHIT man, they are fucking awesome!!

here you have Fritz Kalkbrenner playing at the 2nd Stage.

let's continue with Haru's reason to go to that Festival. DEICHKIND:

I've seen Deichkind before, at last years NovaRock '11 to be exact, but it was Haru's first time EVER to see them live.
And tbh I thought they were even better than in 2011. They played so many old HipHop songs such as Bon Voyage and they really had  an awesome show! Those cubes where they are standing on where always dragged around, and moved from one side to another, and it really looked amazing! They're such partymakers, and I really enjoy them every single time!

again a few pictures of the Festival area from above.

a picture of the actual stage from the drum'n'bass stage. As you can see the whole saturday was hosted by "Hospital Records"

I haven't found a picture of Netsky, but I found one of those "cute" selfmade shirts xDD

So I really enjoyed myself so much these 3 days, and to be honest I really wanna go back so bad..
I'm looking forward to next year, cause I'll definately go again. I know that the organization sucked so hard sometimes, and that I can't compare that Urban to any Urban Art Forms before, BUT I can compare it to other Festivals like Summer Nights which is now called Metalfest, Nova Rock and Wacken, cause I've been to all of them before.
And if I would ever have to choose, I would always, and I really mean ALWAYS choose Urban Art Forms.
It's the best festival I've ever been to so far. <3 I really loved it so much there. C:

AGAIN: all the pictures were taken DURING the Urban Art Forms Festival 2012 by several photographers. I do NOT own any single of those pictures, and all props go to the photographers.

when the official video comes out, I promise I'll post it, same thing goes for Nina's pics, when I finally have them.

xoxo,

Mina.
